Nabutan Ranau Walk
Thanks to Mr. Neil Douglas Hamilton and Daniel Robert Hamilton who walked from Nabutan to Ranau's P.O.W. camp on 25 Dec 2005 to 26 Dec 2005 for the Aussie P.O.W. who had fought for our freedom in Sabah 60 years ago.
"My son and I did the walk from Nabutan to Ranau--it was a great experience. The tour guides are experienced, skilled, courteous, knowledgeable and importantly great company and fun."
"I have walked Kokoda, and whilst this is not the same physical challenge, the spiritual feeling is much the same. This ground is no less sacred than the Owen Stanley's or the sands of El Alemein and Tobruk."
"Mr. Tham is developing this project by adding primary rain forest sections and this will become an essential part of the Australian Military History tours; up there with Galipoli, Kokoda, Hell Fire Pass and the Western Front."
"The growing interest in this important part of Australia's Military history will see the Anzac Day Ceremonies here, at Ranau, Sandakan and Kundasang, join Galipoli, Isurava and Hell Fire Pass as the must visit places for the real students of the Anzac spirit."
"Importantly, all this happens in the beautiful state of Sabah with so much more to offer the Australian tourist. We loved Mount Kinabalu and the places we stayed in the country."
